Joe is the founder of Snow Genius, a technology platform focused on helping people make smarter decisions about skiing and snowboarding.

After learning to ski as a child, Joe stepped away from the sport for many years before returning just before the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many riders coming back to the mountains, he quickly realized how difficult it had become to answer seemingly simple questions. Which pass makes the most sense? Which resorts are actually included? How do you compare hundreds of options without spending hours researching?

The more he looked, the more obvious the problem became. The information existed—but it was scattered across dozens of resort websites, buried in marketing material, or hidden within online communities. Planning a season required far too much time, and too much insider knowledge.

Drawing on more than a decade of experience building large-scale digital products, Joe set out to solve that problem. Snow Genius combines data, technology, and thoughtful product design to make snow sports easier to navigate. Rather than selling a particular pass or resort, the goal is simple: give riders clear, unbiased recommendations so they can spend less time researching and more time on the mountain.

A longtime friend of founder Joe Gaglione, Greg joined Snow Genius to help turn vision into reality—bringing technical expertise, platform leadership, and creative problem-solving to every part of the experience.

With over 15 years of experience in software engineering, system architecture, and technology leadership, Greg has led agile teams, scaled cloud infrastructure, and delivered data-driven solutions. His ability to bridge engineering and product strategy made him the ideal partner to architect the Snow Genius backend and guide its evolution into a robust, scalable platform.

Greg is passionate about clean code, elegant architecture, and building tools that empower users—even if he’s not first in line on a powder day. Outside of work, he’s a dad, drummer, gamer, and Raleigh-based engineer with a love for collaboration and building useful things.
