Blog Post #1: “The Story Behind Snow Genius”

❄️ Why We’re Building This

Ever try to figure out which ski pass to buy for the season and end up with 12 browser tabs, three spreadsheets, and a mild identity crisis?

Yeah—us too.

That moment of frustration sparked Snow Genius. We’re building a smarter way to sort through all the chaos of season passes so that skiers and riders like you can make the right choice, without wasting time or money.

We believe the world of snow sports has been stuck behind a wall of tribal knowledge—info passed around in forums, Facebook groups, and text threads. It’s time to break that wall down and make the best snow data accessible, personalized, and fun.

This isn’t just about saving money. It’s about helping people spend more time on the mountain and less time staring at fine print.

🧠 Who We Are

We’re a small team of snow lovers, tech nerds, and design geeks who decided to do something about it.

  • Joe Gaglione – Founder & Product Lead

Joe’s been skiing since he could walk. With a background in e-commerce and product management, he’s spent his career making digital tools easier and smarter—and now he’s applying that same energy to snow sports. When he’s not refining pass logic, he’s mapping out ski weekends and gear lists.

  • Greg Burke – Solution Architect

Greg may not be the first guy on the lift, but he’s the first guy into the code. A long-time friend of Joe’s and an expert in cloud architecture and systems integration, Greg’s job is to turn the vision into something scalable and fast.

  • Christi Gorelli – UI/UX Lead

Christi brings the fun. As a seasoned designer and mom to two active boys who live for snow days, she makes sure the site is easy to use, beautiful to look at, and built for all types of snow lovers—from first-timers to pass diehards.

🏔️ What We Hope to Achieve

We’re not just trying to build another comparison tool. We want to:

  • Make ski season planning fun again.

  • Help families, students, military members, and powder hounds find the best value—based on their lives.

  • Cut through industry clutter with real, unbiased data.

  • Build a community of skiers and riders who share tips, hacks, and favorite runs.

  • Expand into gear, resorts, and travel tools in the future.

We’ve got big ideas—but it all starts with one question:

What’s the best pass for me?

That’s where the magic begins.
